Tactical Intelligence

The codebook
that disappears.

Build a tactical code system your players internalise so deeply, they no longer need the board. From grassroots to professional football.

For every level

Built for all coaches

The same principles of cognitive load, automatisation and multi-modal encoding apply whether you coach U12 or Champions League.

1
Grassroots
5–10 simple flat codes. One colour per phase. Train the signal until it fires without thinking. Lay the foundation for a lifetime of tactical intelligence.
2
Semi-Pro
15–25 codes across a structured hierarchy. Aliases for recall under pressure. Track scenario outcomes to refine which codes deliver results.
3
Professional
Full hierarchical grammar. Informative and trigger codes separated. Multi-modal encoding. Match-state analysis and outcome dashboards.

How it works

Three tools. One goal: codes that live in the body, not on the board.

01
Build your codebook
Create codes with labels (1–3 digits), aliases, phases, and types. Flat for single instructions. Hierarchical when each digit carries meaning — 8 = zone, 3 = variant, 7 = detail.
02
Map match scenarios
Assign codes to every score state — 0–0, 1–0, 2–1 and beyond. Log execution times and outcomes from −5 (full exposure) to +5 (full domination).
03
Analyse and adapt
The tracker aggregates outcomes by code and by score sector across matches. See which codes produce results. Retire the ones that don't.
04
Display on the bench
Full-screen code display, visible across the technical area. Signal the beginning of a play or flag it expiring — without leaving the bench.

Codes that carry meaning

Colour encodes the phase — read in under 0.5 seconds, before the number is processed. Each digit adds a layer of precision.

Features

Everything in one place

A single offline-ready file. No server, no login, no data sent anywhere.

Code Editor
Create and organise codes by phase, type and structure. Flat or hierarchical. Export as a printable codebook PDF.
Scenario Tree
Interactive score tree from 0–0 to 3–3. Assign one or multiple codes per match state. Track execution times and outcomes.
Performance Tracker
Aggregate outcomes across matches. Charts by code and by score sector. Identify which codes deliver under pressure.
Bench Display
Full-screen code display visible from distance. Green pulse for signal onset, orange strobe for expiry. Close-button always accessible.
Import / Export
Carry your codebook between devices as a JSON file. Share match data with your staff. Print a codebook reference for your players.
Offline First
A single HTML file. Works without internet, on any device. Save it to your home screen. All data stored locally.
The science

Built on research

Every design decision in the codebook system maps to a measurable cognitive or motor learning principle.

2–3×
Recall improvement with hierarchical codes
Bower et al. (1969) showed hierarchical organisation improves recall by 2–3× and reduces learning time by ~75% compared to flat lists.
log₂
Hick-Hyman Law
Decision time grows logarithmically with the number of alternatives. A larger, unstructured codebook adds latency, not intelligence.
<0.5s
Pre-attentive colour processing
Colour is read before the number is processed. Phase-colour families allow instant classification under crowd noise and sprint conditions.
N4
The autonomy threshold
Above gradient level 4, codes stop commanding and start authorising. The player decides. This is where the bench stops controlling and starts trusting.
"The code a coach displays in training today is destined to disappear — the day the team plays without looking at the screen, the system has succeeded."
